Weather updates for Fairfield County Connecticut

Heavy rain moving in, flooding possible

|

Gee, where do we begin?

There’s lots of wet weather our way for today and Wednesday.

So much rain is expected that the National Weather Service has posted a number of watches, advisories, statements, even a hazardous weather outlook.

A frontal system will approach the area Tuesday into Wednesday and will allow for showers and thunderstorms to overspread the area. The best chances for heavy rain will mainly be Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Anywhere from 2 to 3 inches will fall with locally higher amounts possible through Wednesday.

So far, we’re ahead of rainfall totals for the year. The year’s normal for this date is 26.40 inches, but we’ve gotten 29.33 inches.
