Game on!

by Jillian

Come enjoy some lawn games on Jesup Green! The library has croquet, bocce and badminton sets that you can check out–courtesy of the Downtown Merchants’ Association.

Very soon we will also have a ping pong table on the River Walk patio.  Fun!  Bring your friends, your kids, or your grandkids and show them how it’s done.  Paddles and balls will be available from the A/V department on the lower level.

On rainy days, play indoor games in the Great Hall.  Try Battleship, Monopoly or help out with our puzzle.

Rain or shine, make a little time for play. Check things out at the Library!

Berchem, Moses & Devlin Law Firm Rocks

by:

This law firm has quietly given LexisNexis to the Westport Library annually for years, and has done so again. This valuable online law and public records resource, rarely found in public libraries, is used and coveted by many. THANK YOU Berchem, Moses & Devlin!

The American Library Association awarded him the Caldecott Medal, considered the Pulitzer Prize of children’s book illustration, for Where the Wild Things Are, in 1964. Check it out at the Westport Library!

Tell us How You Feel About the Library

by:

Okay, so nobody likes surveys. But wait; this one is really quick and easy. Seriously. And it will help us learn about how you use the Library and how you would like to use it in the future. You don’t have to give your name if you don’t want to, and you get to look at an enchanting green background while you fill it out. There’s a space at the end to say whatever you want. Okay? Click here. Or you can go to the Library home page. THANKS!

Get Ready for Summer Reading (with an online option this year!)

by:

by Kris

Get ready…Get Set…

The really BIG yearly event in the Children’s Library is Summer Reading Club, which draws over 2,000 eager readers each summer.  Librarians will visit the public schools in May and June to tell kids about Summer Reading Club, and to highlight new and wonderful titles.  New this year—children will have the opportunity to sign up and complete their reading journals online!  And , of course, children also have the option of  signing up in person , as they have done in past  years.

And please like the Library on Facebook!
