Each year Kings Highway school celebrates Connecticut’s Nutmeg Books by having a Book Bowl. Teams of up to five 5th grade students answer questions about the 10 Nutmeg Books in front of a large audience of 4th and 5th graders.
The program is planned and managed by Kings Highway school library media specialist Aimee Shuhart (center of picture) and hosted by Dr. Da Silva, principal (on left) and Bill Derry, assistant director at the Westport Library. The 5th graders pictured are from the four teams who successfully made it to the Book Bowl Finals on Feb. 4th: All We Do is Read, Read, Read, The Book Bosses, The Nutmeg Eaters and the Purple Monkey Dishwashing Bookbowl Bandits.
Congrats to them!
