Make sure you Make plans to Make it a date next month: the Mini Maker Faire.
It’s the first “official” Mini Maker Faire in the state, and it will take place April 28 at the Westport Public Library and the green next door. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event, which has its origins in California, is a showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness in celebration of the Maker movement, according to organizers. At the event, “makers” — ranging from crafters to engineers — will show what they are making and share what they are learning.
Those who think they can Make the grade to participate in the event should submit applications for the Westport Mini Maker Faire by April 1 at westportmakerfaire.org/makers.
A co-sponsor of the event is CLASP Homes, marking its 30th anniversary in 2012, a Westport organization providing people with autism and related developmental disabilities with group homes and apartments.
