“The Sound and the Saugatuck” is the title of a new exhibit being launched Friday, May 25, at the Westport Historical Society.
The water-themed display will be on view through Saturday, Sept. 1, in the historical society’s Betty R. and Ralph Sheffer Gallery, 25 Avery Place. An opening reception will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 25.
The exhibit, which will include a “Watershed Moments” PowerPoint exhibit in the Little Gallery, will feature multi-media presentations on the Sound’s human and natural history and how man and nature are interdependent.
It will also show the Saugatuck River watershed and explain area residents’ connection and responsibility to its health, according to a society news release.
The exhibit will be free and open to the public. Visit www.westporthistory.org or call 203-222-1424.
