Telling the Story of “Y We Matter”

Midge’s Membership Blog:

We are always grateful for our members at the Westport Weston Family Y and appreciate having them be a part of our Y family.

We rarely have the opportunity to thank them individually and to highlight how they contribute toward making our Y a true center of community life.

Here's Y lifeguard and camp counselor Haley Peterson's story...

Everybody has a story, and  we are in the process of putting together a compilation of stories from members, volunteers, coaches, instructors,  and other staffers that will be displayed along with their photos across the walls of our building.

The series of color photo posters are part of what we’re calling our “Y We Matter” project.  And, matter, you do!

We hope you enjoy reading these profiles and finding out more about Y members,  staffers and the many volunteers who commit their time and energy toward making the Y a vital presence in our community.

If you are interested in having your story told — your “Y life” and our role in your family’s life and for our community — please stop by the Membership Desk and see me, Midge.  I will be happy to hear your story and take your picture so that you can become part of “Y We Matter.”

And here's Milton Marhoffer's story...

Bonnie Strittmatter, president of our volunteer Board of Directors...

Peter Bradeen's smile always lights up the Y, and so will his story...

Congratulations to your YMCA for showing excellent examples of “Living our Cause”. This is an awesome way to deepen relationships and tell your Y stories!
