Senate hopeful McMahon’s visit to ‘Morning Joe’ gets testy

Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon stopped by MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ this morning to discuss her bid for U.S. Senate. McMahon is running for U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd’s now-open seat.

Her roundtable interview with the group got decidedly heated at times, with analyst Lawrence O’Donnell accusing McMahon of “mak[ing] money off the blood of people who destroyed themselves for a living for you.”

You can see the full interview in its entirety below:

‘Hey, where’d the clock go on GreenwichTime.com?

It’s been over a month since we relaunched GreenwichTime.com, and the response from the Greenwich community has been terrific.

Folks are loving our new slideshows, our more prominent staff and reader blogs, and our way better site search.

But as soon as we flipped the switch from the old site to the new one, we heard one particular piece of feedback again and again.

“What did you guys do to the clock?!”

It’s official: When we relaunched the site, we removed the famous Greenwich clock from our site header. The truth is, we had no idea that the Greenwich community had such a strong passion for their beloved clock. It was a mistake.

We got dozens of e-mails. Readers mentioned it to our reporters. Somebody even called me about it.

Notice something missing?

What fools we were.

Almost immediately, reader outrage was nearly universal. Here’s what some of you wrote us about it:

“Where is the CLOCK???!!”

Put back the Clock, the Clock IS Greenwich Time…”

I miss the clock too. Its part of Greenwich and what poeple remember when there looking at the site!!!”

This is not Greenwich.  Where is the clock on Greenwich Avenue?  Please do not go ahead with this design.  Please!”

I like the new functionality, but as another poster said, the front page is lacking in class.  This could be easily improved by bringing back the clock and a slightly more classic page look.”

I can agree with the enhancements, but, the main page has little class and offers little graphically. Bring back the clock.”

I know it’s a work in progress, but is there any way to save the GT clock in the new Web site? It’s a huge part of the newspaper’s identity.”

That last one was from our very own Neil Vigdor. Believe me, I could keep going.

I’m pleased to say we’ve heard you loud and clear. And, starting a few days ago, the clock is back.

All is right with the world

As both a newspaper and a Web site, we’re nothing without the support of the members of our community. We read every piece of feedback we get on the site. If you’ve got an idea or feature request, let us know.

Trust me, we’re listening!
