After many months of preparation, our new commenting platform on CTPost.com, NewsTimes.com, StamfordAdvocate.com and GreenwichTime.com is now live!
If you already had an account to leave a comment on our sites, don’t worry. You’ll be able to log in and post using your existing account.
But you’ll also now be able to do way more than just post comments on stories.
Users can now comment on individual photos, set up a profile page, they can give a “thumbs up” to posts, they can dislike posts, ignore users, flag comments, reply to comment replies, post comments to Twitter and Facebook and much, much more.
Here’s a screenshot of the new commenting platform in action:
Start clicking around and explore! And if you aren’t already registered, sign up for an account. We hope soon our sites will become an even better representation of the community.
Have any suggestions or problems? Leave a comment on the blog post below.

I think it’s fabulous!
Great job!
Hi Keith
Did you ever have an opportunity to check out Quentin Smeltzer at SmeltzerNation.com to write a blog for you folks?
NotfromCT: Exactly.
You mean now we won’t have to see the same tweets about an article summary repeated over and over in the comments section and will instead feature real comments?
Okay, so it’s not Topix, but lets hope it works. Haven’t been able to post all day.
Agreed, Al. Even if those folks do register on our new platform, it’s easier than ever for us to weed out the few rotten eggs who ruin an otherwise healthy conversation.
The News-Times website has come a long way since the days of old when anti-immigrant/racist postings were commonplace on the site…funny how that has all but disappeared once people had to register…
I hadn’t been able to post comments for a couple of weeks. Now I can again with the new change.
Glad you’ve been looking forward to them, Tim. We have been too.
It’s about time
