In Sunday’s Connecticut Post, I had a story about thermometers. Many parents in the region don’t own them, mainly because they never have and don’t see a reason to change. Some doctors think this is a bad idea, as knowing the exact severity of a fever is crucial to knowing just how sick someone is. But at least one doctor says it’s not necessary to have a thermometer, arguing that all it does is increase anxiety.
