The American Cancer Society is seeking participants for a study that will examine the genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors that can cause or prevent cancer.

The American Cancer Society is seeking participants for a study that will examine the genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors that can cause or prevent cancer.

 

On Thursday from noon to 4 p.m., Bridgeport Hospital, Mill Hill B 267 Grant Street, will be recruiting participants for a landmark American Cancer Society study. Men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer are needed to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3).

ACS has been recruiting study participants all over the state for the past several months.

During the 30 minute enrollment period you will be asked to read and sign an informed consent form; complete a brief survey;  have a waist measurement; and give a small blood sample. At home, individuals will complete follow up questionnaire related to health. Periodic follow-ups surveys and newsletters will be sent.
