Hopefully, you read my story this weekend on the Schaubs, the Vermont family who gave up all added sugar for an entire year. One of the most amazing things I realized when reading the book was how prevalent sugar is. One whole chapter of the book focuses on Schaub and her husband spending the better part of a “date night” together searching for a restaurant that had items with no sugar on it. It seems incredible, but she soon found that sugar was in everything from mayonnaise, to salad dressing to lunch meat. Yes, that’s correct. Apparently, a lot of cold cuts are cooked in sugar-containing glazes. Who knew?

However, that’s not what we think about when we think about sugar, is it? We think of candy, cakes, cookies, and the like. So my question to you is, what would you miss if you had to give up sugar for a year? What sweet treat would you crave? Please leave your answers below.
