Robert Henkel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ascension Health, will be the keynote speaker for the 2014 Commencement Exercises of St. Vincent’s College to be held 10 a.m. today at the Arnold Bernhard Arts & Humanities Center, Mertens Theatre at the University of Bridgeport, 84 Iranistan Avenue.
Former St. Vincent’s Health Services President and CEO Susan L. Davis, EdD, RN, will receive an honorary doctor of humane letters, and College Board Chairperson Marianne Laska will also be honored.
This year’s class of 160 graduates is the largest in St. Vincent’s College history. For the second year, the event includes baccalaureate graduates from both the bachelor of science in nursing (RN-BSN) program and the bachelor of science in radiologic sciences programs.
“We are fortunate to have as our keynote speaker, Robert Henkel who brings his knowledge of the ever-changing trends today in healthcare and his insightful perspective on the challenges and opportunities that will face our graduates in the days to come,” said St. Vincent’s College President Martha Shouldis, EdD. “All of us in the field can learn valuable lessons from his experience in leading one of the major healthcare systems in the country.”
