Time Efficiency-Focus on TWO Lists

by:

I read this and immediately wanted to share it with everyone.

“The world is changing fast and if we don’t stay focused on the road ahead, resisting the distractions that, while tempting, are, well, distracting, then we increase the chances of a crash.

Now is a good time to pause, prioritize, and focus. Make two lists:

List 1: Your Focus List (the road ahead)What are you trying to achieve? What makes you happy? What’s important to you? Design your time around those things. Because time is your one limited resource and no matter how hard you try you can’t work 25/8.

List 2: Your Ignore List (the distractions)

To succeed in using your time wisely, you have to ask the equally important but often avoided complementary questions: what are you willing not to achieve? What doesn’t make you happy? What’s not important to you? What gets in the way?”

This is a quote from:

Resolve not to let Veterans Sacrifices be in Vain

by:

My Dad (WWII vet) always referred to Memorial Day as “Decoration Day”. (That is what the day was originally named in 1865 at the end of the Civil War.  The Federal Law changing the name was passed in 1968.)  He always bought a “poppy boutonniere” from the Veterans and wore his VFW hat.   On Memorial Day at the VFW,  the flag was raised  to the top of the staff and then solemnly lowered to the half-staff position, where it remained  until noon. It was then raised to full-staff for the remainder of the day as part of the “remembrance ceremony” .  The half-staff position remembered the more than one million men and women who gave their lives in service of their country. At noon their memory is raised by the living, who resolve not to let their sacrifice be in vain, but to rise up in their stead and continue the fight for liberty and justice for all.

Our town did not have a Memorial Day Parade, but in our house, everyone honored the reason for the holiday.

A friend of mine posted this video on her Facebook, and I hope it reminds everyone that Memorial Day (and memories of all Veterans at all times) is respectful.  It  is a time to remember the sacrifices our countries warriors made and  continue to make to sustain our Freedom

Resolve not to let our Veterans  sacrifice be in vain.

3.  It looks Beautiful

4.  It’s Fun

5.  Flavor is excellent

6.  We can talk to the farmers (maybe pet some goats—-have you tried the goat soap???? I hope they are there this year!)

7.  We are supporting the local Connecticut economy
