Amy Rowe-Smith and First County Bank was awarded Volunteer Member of the Year and Business of the Year respectively at the Darien Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting. Both winners were honored with a Town Proclamation delivered by First Selectman Jayme Stevenson, an Assembly Citation presented by Terrie Wood CT State Representative and a Darien Chamber Award plaque from Al Tibbetts, Chairman of the Darien Chamber of Commerce.
Amy Rowe-Smith, from Atria~Darien, has been active in the Darien Chamber of Commerce for over five years. She has been a Chamber Ambassador and serves on the Executive Board as Chair of Membership. She has demonstrated excellent organizational skills to coordinate the Chamber Ambassadors with the 25 new members that need support during their first year of membership.
Active member of the Social Committee has made Atria available to the chamber for meetings and retreats. In addition to her participation with many and diverse activities with the Chamber, Amy has a warmth, friendliness and fabulous smile that attracts people to which makes her an outstanding advocate for the chamber.
Amy has planned and executed fund raisers for Stamford Hospital Women’s Breast Cancer Center, the Norwalk Whittingham Cancer Center and the Darien Road Race. Civic service is a part of Amy’s life away from the office also. She has served on the advisory board of the Norwalk Land Trust. Amy was also one of the Volunteer of the Year Winners at the Darien Community Fund Awards in 2012.

First County Bank has devoted hours of time and energy in the promotion of the Darien Chamber of Commerce. For over eight years, it has supported the Darien SideWalk Sales and Family Fun Days as the Title Sponsor and devoted volunteer hours to help grow and make positive changes to the event.
The First County Bank has supported Darien Goes Green, ArtWorks, Blue Wave Pride Day and other Chamber community events. The Darien Chamber leadership has benefited from the intelligent, energetic, thoughtful and creative First County business professional, Mark Rosenbloom, who serves on the Darien Chamber Board of Directors. In addition, the First county Bank Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the bank, has donated more than $17,500 in 2012 to various nonprofit agencies in Darien including Person-to-Person, Tiny Miracles Foundation and Town of Darien Firefighters Foundation.
