If you’ve got a George Washington just burning a hole in your pocket, my advice to you is to get over to The Pantry (1580 Post Road, Fairfield) and indulge in one of their cookies. Yes, you will be tempted by the mini mousse cups and the pain au chocolat. Perhaps you will say, “No, no, it’s the new year and I’m only eating fruit for dessert.” But I’m telling you, when the urge to splurge hits, get thee over to The Pantry and ask for a Cowboy Cookie. Allow me to describe: an oatmeal cookie with a crispy exterior and soft, fluffy interior filled with coconut, toasted pecans and chunks of chocolate. If my taste buds serve me correctly, there’s a good dose of high-quality cinnamon in there, too. This is one seriously yummy cookie.
If nuts or coconut aren’t your thing, go for the World Peace cookie, which is chocolate shortbread with chocolate chips and sea salt. A veritable bargain at 75 cents.

Sounds like Laura Bush’s “cowboy cookie” which is super easy to make and amazingly delicious. Save your buck and buy the $10 worth of ingredients to make 80 of these babies…heaven on a baking sheet.
