As you might remember, a few weeks ago I made two recipes from the 2011 Hood New England Dairy Cook-Off. Both were incredible and I’ve made them several times since then. That’s what I love about the Cook-Off– the recipes are hard core. The contest isn’t about pimping up a box of cake mix and calling it a trifle or stuffing some refrigerator biscuits with chocolate chips and voila! A croissant! These competitors are fierce and pull out all the stops with their inventive recipes.

Last year I was a judge at the event. The audience got to sample the different dishes while the contestants worked furiously to beat the clock. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it? Wish you could go, don’t you? Well, it just may be your lucky day! The folks at Hood are offering one lucky follower of this blog an “Ultimate Prize Package,” which includes a cookbook with last year’s recipes, two VIP event tickets and overnight hotel accommodations at the Providence Marriott Downtown (10/20-21). (Note: travel is not included, but hey, it’s a short drive and you can stop at the casinos on the way there.)
So what do you have to do to throw your hat into the ring? Just leave a comment here telling me what your favorite dairy product is. (I’ll tell you mine. It’s cream. I couldn’t live without cream in my coffee.)
