Okay, that’s the last time I tell you people anything. In my last post, I wrote about the fabulous chocolate almond brioche at the Black Rock Farmers Market. I went there this morning to get another, but by 10 a.m., they were already sold out!
Instead, I got a doughnut from the Whisk and Brush stand. (Here’s a mouth-watering pic from their website: www.whiskandbrush.com.)
At $3 a pop, they’re pricey, but they’re unlike any other doughnut I’ve ever had. You can tell these babies have gone through a long process. They’re soft and yeasty and chewy. The dough itself isn’t overly sweet; the sticky glaze adds the sugary component.
Now I’m faced with a problem. Next time, do I get a brioche or a doughnut? That’s assuming you all leave some for me!
