The Westport Country Playhouse has a hold on our imagination. Whether we’re longtime subscribers, or simply admire the iconic red theater while walking our dogs at Winslow Park, we often wonder what goes on backstage.
On Saturday, April 14 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), we get our chance.
“Playhouse Community Day” — the 3rd annual open house — offers a wide variety of events. There are family activities, displays, sneak peeks at the upcoming season (along with ticket discounts) and food.
The biggest draw, though, might be the chance to take a backstage tour. If you’ve ever wanted to see the green rooms, check out a dressing room, or walk on the same stage where hundreds of Broadway stars have trod, now’s your chance.
Just leave your dog at the park.
