Susan Malloy Sketches Paris

|

You can teach an old dog new tricks.

Not that Susan Malloy is an old dog. More like a frisky young pup.

Susan Malloy and her book.

The 88-year-old longtime Westporter has just published her first book. A “Guide to Paris” for young people, it contains sketches she made last year on a trip to France with her niece Ann Sheffer, and Susan’s 17- and 10-year-old grandchildren.

Each drawing contains information about a special Paris attraction. The book is available at the Westport Historical Society and Westport Arts Center.

Susan is working hard to get the book in the hands of young people. “I’m new at this!” she notes.

Another first looms on Mother’s Day. Susan will display her paintings at the Hall-Brooke Mother’s Day show, an annual event that draws art-lovers from miles around.

Congratulations, Susan! What’s next on your bucket list?
