Plenty of Westport organizations do plenty of good things. And they spend plenty of time letting you know about it. Or at least plenty of time asking for your contributions.
Westport PAL is not one of those institutions. Sure, they do plenty of good things — from sponsoring youth sports programs and running the Longshore skating rink, to running Easter egg hunts — but they do it all in a low-key, smooth, it’s-all-about-the-kids way.
The only time you hear “PAL” is when people talk about programs.
The annual Children’s Luncheon Christmas Party this Saturday (December 8, 12-3 p.m., VFW Hall) is typical. Santa arrives at 1 p.m. with gifts for children 7 years old and younger. There’s fun for all.
Plus a complimentary ticket for skating at the PAL rink.
That’s all. No hidden agenda. No hands out for funds. Just pure holiday spirit.
Ho ho ho!
