Last year, 11-year-old Emily Bass participated in a Push-Up for Cancer event at the Fitness Factory. She did 1,500 (!), which raised money (through pledges) for Paul Newman’s wonderful Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
This year her goal is 2,000 push-ups, over just 2 hours. The event is June 8, and she’s hard at work.
But the Westporter still wants to do more. Emily is getting ready for her bat mitzvah, and knows that one of the items on the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp wish list is 300 brand-new pillows. So she’s started “Emily’s Pillow Project.”
There are 3 ways to help.
- Click here to donate directly, through Emily’s fundraising page.
- Bring a new standard-size pillow (or as many as you want!) to the Fitness Factory, behind Crate & Barrel on Saturday, June 8.
- Send a check (payable to “cash”). Emily will purchase as many pillows as she can on your behalf.
