Ruben Guardado Gives Back

|

Westporter Lori Sochol writes:

It has been 5 years since the diagnosis and treatment of my breast cancer. Part of my healing has been being involved in the organization A Better Chance of Westport. Getting to know and help these wonderful young men has been an amazing gift. All the scholars and alumni have become very important to me.

Ruben Guardado, who just graduated from Staples High School and will be attending USC in the fall, has become an important member of our family. Ruben is very thankful for all the support and help he was given during his time at ABC of Westport. To show his gratitude he wanted to participate in something meaningful, but also challenging.  Ruben knows that a few of us who volunteer with ABC of Westport have been touched by cancer in some way. He thought that participating in the Pan-Mass Challenge for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston would be the perfect way to give back.

For me, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is such an important institution. It is is making great progress in the fight against cancer, especially with children. Helping children and teens is definitely my thing. Ruben is trying to raise $4500. Whatever you can give would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much. Please go to this link, and learn about Ruben and his PMC Ride.
