Celebrate July 4 at CT’s American Restaurants

I once studied abroad in England for the summer, and the locals attempted to make us feel at home by throwing a 4th of July party at the local pub.  Their version of a “traditional American evening”  consisted of a hamburger eating contest, copious amounts of popcorn in red and white striped bags, Budweiser on draft, and choruses of “New York, New York.”  It was a ton of fun- though I still question if that’s what they really thought we did at home on a weeknight.

Whatever your definition of “Americana,” there are a number of restaurants that have cuisine that’s undeniably American.  They’re perfect destinations for your 4th of July celebration- and this year the 4th falls on a weekend so there’s plenty of time to partake!  From Stamford to Milford to New Haven, we’ve got a list of places serving up dishes and drinks fitting for Independence Day!
