Norwalk’s Chris Webby drops “Fragile Lives” video

Norwalk rapper Chris Webby today released the latest video from his “Bars On Me” mixtape.

Directed by Fairfield native Brian Petchers, “Fragile Lives” is a story about four suburban childhood friends who go their separate ways — and take separate life paths — as they grow into adulthood.

“One gets into drugs, one gets his girlfriend pregnant, one has success academically and gets a job in New York, and one is left alone not doing much at home,” Petchers said in an email. “It is a simple story, but the theme is that it is important to stay close to the friends you grow up with and accept the fact that life goes and relationships change.”

The video was shot primarily in Fairfield, at locations including Fairfield Beach, Veterans Park and Morehouse Highway.

It is dedicated to Webby’s childhood friend, 21-year-old Nick Vallas, of Norwalk, who died in a car accident in October 2011.

“Fragile Lives,” the latest single off the DJ Drama-hosted “Bars On Me,” features an interpolation of Offspring’s “The Kids Aren’t Alright.”
