Eric Jacobsen: Coming Aug. 6 in Hearst’s arts & culture “S” section

Eric Jacobsen, the conductor of the Greater Bridgeport Symphony, in his kitchen where he loves to cook in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Want to know why Eric Jacobsen is considered a major player on today’s classical music scene? Freelance feature writer Joel Lang will explain it all to you on Sunday, Aug. 6.

An “At Home” profile of Jacobsen, maestro of the Greater Bridgeport Symphony and so much more, will be featured in “S” — the Sunday arts & style section in all Fairfield County Hearst daily newspapers.

The GBS “Revolutions and Revelations” season will open Saturday, Sept. 16, at Bridgeport’s Klein Memorial Auditorium. The program — “Music Lovers of the World Unite” — will feature works by Russian composers to mark the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution. Piano sensation Alexander Beyer will headline, under Jacobsen’s baton. For tickets, visit gbs.org or call 203.576.0263.
