At 5 a.m., Bridgeport Voter Registrar was a Study in Chaos

Democratic Registrar Santa Ayala didn’t want to talk about it in the pre-dawn today in Bridgeport’s McLevy Hall, but Republican Registrar Joe Borges told the Blogster that Ayala failed to order enough paper ballots because they ended up with “four or five cases” of unused ballots two years ago after a traditional low turnout. Oops, she didn’t anticpate Barack Obama coming to Bridgeport to rescue the day for US Rep. Jim Himes and now, maybe Democratic gubernatorial candidate Dannel Malloy. The big slowdown occurred when the photocopies couldn’t be scanned, but had to be hand-counted.
