    The $400 per person figure is so misleading as to be downright dishonest. The burden is very different depending on income levels, and the increase for the wealthiest Nutmeggers is much higher than for middle class residents. This writer should have told the truth, which is that for the vast majority of residents of this state, the increase will be much, much smaller.

    And while he’s at it, why not put the tax figure in context of income levels. Our state’s tax burden is small in comparison with gross state product. And let’s also be honest about the fact that our tax rates are still lower than all of our surrounding states.

    A little context; a little more candor.
