  1. The death of this bill is good news for all CT residents and visitors. Red light cameras are just a cynical means to raise money with improper and/or unethical traffic management policies, and some of those policies actually risk raising the accident rate. In virtually every case, simply adding 1.0 seconds to the yellow intervals will reduce any violation rates by MORE than a ticket camera program. Ticket cameras REQUIRE too-short yellows to produce much profit and profit is the ONLY thing the camera vendor wants. Camera companies happily trade off lower safety for more revenue.
