    Hey Bill,
You’re letting the fact that you’re a diehard Red Sox fan get in the way of some facts.

General Motors did not start making ‘almost’ all of their cars front wheel drive in 1979. It was much slower process than you recall. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Front-wheel_drive

You are correct about the FW Drive Riviera not exisiting until the late 70s. If you were a real GM afficianado, you’d have figured out that I confused the 60s Riviera with the Olds Toronado…and you’d know why I confused them of course.

Now, why don’t you get back to what you were doing 10+ years ago and work up there in the hinterlands to find someone to take Williams Senate seat from the bozo?

You’re right. What’s an extra syllabel when you’re trying to sum up your public remarks and faith in the governor with a common sports reference? “Bring it home like Lionel Messi,” just doesn’t quite have the right ring. It wasn’t really a Champions League crowd.

Well Jack, if you’re going to be critical of Don Williams you really ought to have your facts straight about Buick Rivieras. The one in the photo is a 1966 REAR WHEEL DRIVE not front wheel drive like you said. Rivieras came out in 1963 and were not front wheel drive until 1979 when General Motors started making almost all of their cars front wheel drive. I’m a baseball fan but not a fanatic and I can never get Manuel Rivera’s name right either and I’ve been known to refer to him as Manuel Riviera just like Senator Williams did, big deal no one really cares. I do know that Rivera has a hard time shutting down the Red Sox, most notably in game 4 of the ALCS in 2004, 3 to zero game lead and the Red Sox won the next four. Now THAT we all remember but Rivera, Riviera, tomatoe, tomato…….

This shows Williams is completely clueless regarding his ability to use a sports metaphor. Those old-school Rivieras would be the perfect machine to lead one even FURTHER into a ditch, since they were an anomoly of being a massive, front wheel drive car.

…where Williams wants to take us all, further down the ditch. Connecticut’s ‘open for business?’ Are you serious?
