Judiciary Committee on Friday will hold public hearing on 2009 Stamford chimp-mauling case

The Judiciary Committee has set aside Friday for a public hearing on one item: The dismissal of the multi-million-dollar claim for damages by Charla Nash, who was blinded and horribly maimed when a huge chimpanzee named Travis attacked her five years ago on a property on Stamford’s Rockrimmon Road. The hearing is set for noon in the Legislative Office Building. In order for her to be able to sue the state, the Judiciary Committee will have to reject the resolution confirming the decision to dismiss the claim.
