As “medical marijuana” (already legal throughout the country) is cued up to win in CT House and Senate, Sen. Toni Boucher warns of DOJ action

Here’s part of a letter Sen. Antonietta Boucher, R-Wilton – who is expected to stage multi-hour filibusters on bills that would legalize medical marijuana and provide for reduced cash penalties for possession of small amounts of the controlled substance – has sent in attempt to kill the bills:

“Fellow Legislators, A recent development has made the prospect of legalized medical marijuana extremely problematic for Connecticut. According to Dave Evans, Executive Director of the Drug Free Schools Coalition, the Department of Justice intends to prosecute medical marijuana programs in accordance with the Controlled Substances Act… We may not wish to subject Connecticut to the cost of defending itself in these dire economic times. Sincerely, Toni Boucher”
