And starting in goal, number e…

Y’know… I know it’s training camp, and there’s gonna be some weird numbers out there…

But when one top line is 82-92-68 (Martin Straka-Michael Nylander-Jaromir Jagr)… and the other’s is 21-79-81 (Robert Nilsson-captain Alexei Yashin-Miro Satan)… and the only one with a number under 67 is the rookie… And there’s a couple of 55s out here, both of whom (Jason Blake and Fedor Tyutin) are NHL players… Any weirder and these guys’d have to start wearing irrational numbers. (Though at least Jagr has a reason.)

(Dibs on the square root of 8, BTW.)

On the bright side, the expanded offensive zone doesn’t look nearly as weird as I had thought it might. What does look weird is going back to one-foot-wide red and blue lines. Those two-foot lines the AHL used got very familiar very quickly.
