MV…eep

Was about a minute away from getting the phone handy last night. “Just a word of warning,” I’d have said at intermission. “Dubielewicz didn’t allow a goal and has a three-goal lead. Made some big stops, too. He’s got a shot at being presented with an etched crystal award.”

Well, maybe I wouldn’t have called it “etched crystal” — one too many Player of the Week releases sticks it in your head for good — but you get the point. And then it didn’t work out that way. Oh well.

A nice piece on the man hit the wires. Nothing we haven’t heard before here, but nice to see him get some notice.

So the coach’s blog in Portland has become a player’s blog as Eric Weinrich “took the axe off the wall.” I hope it stays as good as it has been.

The columnist deep within tips his hat to Dan Wetzel at Yahoo. You know, structurally, for taking a strong stand on a topic. Yeah, that’s why.

Already scheduled to stay in the Providence area, I’ve suddenly had to take a peek at hotels in the Worcester area with snow supposedly coming Friday. This could be a monumental weekend: first stays in two different Eastern Conference cities. That’d leave just Hartford — which, yeah, that’s not happening — and Springfield, only slightly less likely.
