So many questions to be answered for both Islander and Sound Tiger rosters. What a great situation to be in – a logjam of talented and hungry players from which to choose. No matter what, the Sound Tigers may field perhaps the most physical and talented team since year one. There’s a nice mix of veterans and youth, scoring, defense and solid goaltending. Now two things remain: 1.) avoid all those injuries that plagued this team the past few years and; 2.) start filling the Arena with enthusiastic and -vocal Sound Tiger fans. For too many years, it’s been a more laid-back crowd and often outnumbered AND outshouted by visiting fans (i.e. Hartford, Wilkes-Barre & Hershey). If this team is as good as it looks on paper, the sky’s the limit and that fan thing will take care of itself. Plus, there’s a tireless group of fine Sound Tigers staff trying new ideas and accomodating fans needs. It looks like a great season taking shape.
Come to the games, bring the noise, get energized and “TIGERIZED”!!!!
Any speculation on who won the backup job?
agreed…. but can you get me out of the first with a chance to win … A fitting end to the way this team played all year… drop the puck lets move on!
I don’t mean to pick on you, Bill, but I’ve heard a few people compare those lefties’ starts, and I’m not sure it’s fair… Leiter was starting on three days’ rest, which never really worked for him, after 103 mostly clutch pitches in Game 3. Glavine made his last two starts on the four days’ rest he always wanted, with Sunday’s after 97 pitches Tuesday. Combined line in those two: 5.1 innings, 14 hits, 13 runs, three walks, four strikeouts. Wow.
I actually witness Tommy’s last game as a Met… we can only hope….Brought back memories of that other Great lefty Al in Atlanta a few years ago…Where was Kenny Rogers when we needed him!. Oh well drop the puck and lets go Tigers..
