Team photo catch-up

Hanging out in the hallway in the Sound Tigers’ dressing room has reminded me over the course of the year that we fell behind in our Guide to the Team Pictures. It also reminded me that Mark Wotton kept up a neat streak this year: He has alternated sides of the picture over his four years, left to right and back and back again.

(You know how dumb things excite me.)

To recap, here are 2001-06 and 2006-07.

2007-08: Back row: Peter MacArthur, Tyler Mosienko, Colton Fretter, Keith Johnson, Trevor Smith, Andrew MacDonald, Tyler Haskins, Pascal Morency, Ben Walter, Sean Bentivoglio. Middle row: Director of media relations* Kimber Auerbach, Andy Sertich, Scott Ford, Kip Brennan, Jesse Joensuu, Jean Desrochers, Matt Keith, Dustin Kohn, Jamie Fraser, Justin Bourne, trainer John Sullo. *-And almost everything else.
**-Yes, Fata has the only alternate’s ‘A’. That dates this picture as much as the myriad kids.

2008-09: Back row: Pascal Morency, Chris Lee, Sean Bentivoglio, Kurtis McLean, Trevor Smith, Jordan Hart, Tyler Haskins, Jamie Fraser, Micheal Haley, Junior Lessard, Ben Walter, Vladimir Nikiforov. Bottom row: Nathan Lawson, Mitch Fritz (A), Jeremy Colliton (A), assistant coach Matt Bertani, coach Jack Capuano, general manager Garth Snow, president Howard Saffan, assistant coach Pat Bingham, Mark Wotton (C), Joe Callahan (A), Tobias Stephan.

2009-10: Back row: Pascal Morency, Brett Motherwell, Robin Figren, Justin DiBenedetto, Dustin Friesen, Victor Bartley, Mike Radja, Micheal Haley, Sean Bentivoglio, Mark Katic. Kind of nice that Gannon, Motherwell and Friesen manage to be immortalized, isn’t it?

2007-08 features the Tough Pumpkins on Ice sweaters. 2008-09 is the “reprieve” whites. I was dumb and forgot to note which is featured in this year’s, and unfortunately, I can kind of picture it in both white and blue. Help me out. Thanks, Rich This year’s is the Dynastic Islanders Blue.

Hershey’s up 2-0 on Albany, following the Bridgeport course so far with an overtime game and a third-period comeback. The Bears are dinged up on defense. Manchester, meanwhile, blew an early two-goal lead, tied the game midway through the third, but lost Game 1 to Worcester, 4-3.

Hamilton only needed one OT this time to finish off Winnipeg, but Rochester and Abbotsford will play a Game 7 on Tuesday (that’s PTO Jon Rheault with the hat trick).

I said I wasn’t gonna get into linking these that quickly. Oops.

Unrelatedly, this is the best summation I’ve ever seen in one place about the “why can/can’t Young Player X play in the AHL?” question. Bookmark, save to desktop, love.

A reminder: wrap-up live chat Tuesday, 1:30 p.m.
