Well if Sim plays in Bport, there is 25-30ish goals. Bridgeport still needs to add another 100-125 goals to be competitive.
Looks like Jon Sim will help with scoring in Bport.
Marstinko makes 62,500 in the AHL… so as andy mentioned his salary is not the issue….
the team needs goal scorers!! not fighters! this is 2010, not 1980
It’s easy to love Morency (who doesn’t?), but I’m not sure what Morency has to do with winning. Right now we’ve got the worst offensive team in the league. Marcinko isn’t the problem (and he’s probably only making about 1/20th of the $850k mentioned above). Bentivoglio is gone, but at this point we’ve got so few scorers on the team that we’d be begging to have him back. I mean, sure it’s fun to watch Morency agitate the other team and fight sometimes, but he’s only going to put up a couple goals in a season and we’re short around 120 goals right now just to get close to what we scored last season (and that was 3rd worst in the league). They can sign Morency to play 30-40 games and sign autographs and take pics with the fans the rest of the time. I’m all for that, but let’s get some scorers first.
Bridgeport needs players that know what it takes to win. Knowing how to win takes players to the next level. That has been lacking here for a while, know why? because “we’re developing”. How many players come here with “skill” only to see their skill go down hill. We don’t need an $850,000 Marcinko out there to do absolutly nothing. Your right Morency should be dressing for the big club doing what he does best creating energy, showing character, bringing an edge to the game so there is emotion,so we don’t fall asleep watching the pathetic missed passes, shots that are not taken especially from Bentivoglio who is the master of coming over the blueline only to pull up and do nothing…..
Bport needs offense a lot more then they need Morency. I am a huge fan of his but as of right now Bport is the worst team in the AHL offensively.
Well, Kalamazoo is closer than Utah. Since the San Jose Sharks also the K-Wings’ affiliate, are the Isles required to send eight or nine players plus a goaltender? When is the free agent tryouts?
A safe guess is Pascal will be in camp on a tryout. Just like last year and seeing that the Islanders aren’t eager to sign anyone, he’ll make the team.
Sec 106 – I hope you are not basing your decision on buying tickets only if Pascal is playing?!??! don’t you want skilled players? young players? scorers? why dress him, haley and now yablonski? NOT NEEDED. this is not UHL or 15 years ago. Skilled teams win. Not teams with fighters…. maybe say no season tickets if my team is last in scoring and no fans are coming!! that may work better. Yes Pascal is a great person off the house and good for the community, but so is Storm
I’d pick Colley over Darryl’s brother but that’s just 1 guy talking.
We want Morency. Whats the deal? No Morency no season tickets……
