  1. I’ve had no luck tracking down Jody, the couple of times I tried. Even his agent had no idea. Can’t remember why he changed numbers his last year, though I’d guess they let Joel Bouchard pick based on seniority… and then Jody tore his ACL early that year and was more or less done.

Gleed had 2-way AHL contract and went down to Utah (I think there were too many d-men).

What is Jody doing these days? I remember him just sitting on the bench, and I am wondering what was the sense of having him here if he is not going to play? Did he not earned a NHL contract with the Isles in 2004 or 2005? Why did he give the 4?

Thanks for clearing that up. Either way he was a good player for us and I don’t know anyone who isn’t going to miss him thisyear. Don’t know how he didn’t get a deal from another AHL team this year.

  4. I remember, at Clear Day ’09, asking whether Gleed had signed an AHL deal, and being told he had been on one all year. The transaction log backs that up, saying he was recalled from loan to Utah.

I know he was on an AHL deal last year but when he first showed up in a Soundtiger uniform, wasn’t it on a PTO from Utah?

  6. I had Gleed on the list for a while, but then looking back over the official transaction reports, I think he was on an (unannounced, but extant) AHL deal from the start.

Nice writeup Mike. I liked this except I really believ Jon Gleed should be on this list. Although I haven’t been around long enough to know who half these players are, I do know that Gleed became a fan favorite for the defenseman he has become the last few years. We literally saw him grow into a solid D-Man and I am still broken up that he’s not on this team anymore.
