Indeed. Well, indeed at least in terms of not needing waivers on an AHL deal. That would be for a guy who had played in Europe after the AHL season started.
But a guy on an NHL contract, whether one-way or two-way, who has the age and experience to need waivers, he has to go through waivers to go to the AHL.
So I was right, He had to pass waivers because of the 2nd part of the 2 way deal. Had it just been an AHL deal he wouldn’t have to be waived.
I didn’t read it that Jon was saying the “two-way” part meant he needed waivers… thought his question was re-entry (which he wouldn’t need, either) vs. send-down.
But if it was, then yes, listen to Sneekypete, who’s correct either way.
2 way contracts does not mean a player does not have to pass thru waivers. It just means a player gets a different salary in the NHL then he would in the minors.
Roger that…
The latter.
Colliton is on waivers? is he getting recalled or does he have to pass through since he signed a 2 way deal?
@TSNBobMcKenzie NYI puts Jeremy Colliton on waivers. OTT’s Brian Lee clears waivers.
Of course, that immediately makes Colliton a candidate for the next player to get injured.
