Tonight, or 10 years ago

On the Sound Tigers’ roster right now are Rick DiPietro, Stephen Valiquette and Dusan Salficky Kenny Reiter, the last of whom is expected to start tonight against Manchester. DiPietro cleared waivers at noon and was sent down; Kevin Poulin is up. Valiquette should suit up tonight (wearing his original number, 35) and back up Reiter, on the roster with DiPietro for the first time since Game 6 against Binghamton in 2003.

DiPietro is assigned 39, with Brock Nelson holding down his Sound Tigers number.

We’ll transform this into the pregame post in about five hours. In the meantime, here’s a YouTube clip of the Gallant-Hansen fight from last night that seemed to spark the whole thing. It starts a few seconds earlier than the clips you’ve probably seen elsewhere. (H/T: @Rayzor_Edge.) They’ve also added that Wishart minor to the box score (so 149 BPT, 95 SPR, 244 total) and changed Halmo’s game misconduct from persisting in the altercation to a third man in.

No Brett Gallant, injured last night. Appears no Wishart, either, from the rushes; told that if it is, may be the effects of taking a stick last night. (He’s stayed on to pretty much the end of warmup, so guess he’s not in too much trouble.) Looked like one swap at forward. One to scratch for both teams.

Will post some thoughts on the You Can Play panel at some point.
