RIP, Bob Suter / rookie camp, etc.

It’s 34 and a half years later, and a few of the people behind the bench have gone, including Herbie himself. It’s still kind of unfathomable that players from the 1980 U.S. Olympic team could be mortal. RIP, Bob Suter.

Mundanely:

Islanders rookie camp runs Friday to next Wednesday at the Coliseum, the team announced this morning. The list they reported:

Binghamton and Ottawa extended their affiliation agreement through 2019.

DePaul comes to Webster Bank Arena to face UConn women’s basketball on Dec. 19, when the Sound Tigers start that crazy weekend in Norfolk. The Alma Mater will play the UConn men three days later, the day the Sound Tigers’ Christmas break begins.. So no UConn-Sound Tigers changeover this year.

And Canada found one of the Franklin Expedition ships? Wow.
