Camp roster released

Bridgeport’s camp roster (though camp is in Syosset) is here. Finishing a story; will come back and do some annotating in a bit. Some interesting names in the meantime, maybe most notably vet Jeff Deslauriers in goal.

Updating:

In poking around this list, was revealed that Justin Courtnall actually has an AHL contract.

Couple of notes via EliteProspects: Mike Cornell in camp with St. John’s, which worked out well for Jordan Hill last year; though the story isn’t loading at the moment, Ty Wishart with Binghamton on a tryout.

Also, from Scott Linesburgh: Stockton’s for sale. Could be a domino out west. We’ll see.

And the Islanders announced what’d been widely reported Sunday: Michael Dal Colle agreed to his entry-level deal.

Back to the campers, with links of some sorts on the tryouts:

Forwards

Jessey Astles: “Rugged forward” out of junior had an ATO but no playing time with Abbotsford in the spring. Went to camp with Minnesota.

Sebastian Collberg: Islanders prospect acquired from Montreal in the Thomas Vanek deadline deal.

Justin Courtnall: Third-year pro signed a surreptitious AHL contract and went to camp with the Islanders. Played one year mostly in the ECHL, then had a full AHL season with Hamilton last year. Geoff’s son; Russ’ nephew.

Colton Gillies: Veteran (full AHL vet) forward, a first-round pick for Minnesota in 2007; played last year for Rochester.

Ryan Hayes: Stockton contract, back for his third year. Came to Bridgeport’s camp last year.

Ross Johnston: Scrappy PEI native out of the Q. No, not the one on waivers. Was with the Islanders on a tryout.

Chris Langkow: AHL contract. His second tour with Bridgeport last year earned him an AHL deal and a return this year.

Jack MacLellan: Stockton contract. Former Brown standout. Played 35 games for Milwaukee a couple of years ago.

Tyler Maxwell: Stockton contract. Former WHLer played last year in Italy.

Mike Pereira: AHL contract. West Haven native out of UMass; brother of former Sound Tiger Joe; had an ATO with Worcester in the spring.

Andrew Rowe: South Carolina (ECHL) contract. Played a couple of years with Adirondack out of Michigan State but most of the past couple in the ECHL. Had seven games with Hartford last year.

Tyler Shattock: Stockton contract. A fifth-year pro; Blues draft pick who falls just short of AHL veteran status after four 60-plus-game seasons in the St. Louis organization.

Peter Sivak: AHL contract. Late arrival to these shores after a long career back in Europe.

C.J. Stretch: AHL contract. Fifth-year pro coming off his first full AHL season in Oklahoma City.

Lukas Sutter: Unsigned Islanders seventh-round draft pick in June as a re-entry. Yes, he’s a Sutter.

Alex Vasiliev: Turns out to be the former KHL forward. I was kind of hoping it’d be the former Wolf Pack defenseman bolting from Yaroslavl and moving up front. I’d be inappropriately excited.

Scooter Vaughan: AHL contract. PTO defenseman last year; moved up front in the second half of the season and was effective on the PK with Langkow.

Defensemen

Shawn Boutin: Stockton contract. Also back for his third Thunder season; was also in Bridgeport camp last year.

Jesse Graham: Islanders prospect defenseman signed his entry-level deal in May. Fit in in an ATO last spring.

Ryan Hegarty: Former Maine defenseman. Greenville (ECHL) contract, where he played last year.

Loic Leduc: Islanders prospect defenseman signed his entry-level deal late last season.

Mark Nemec: AHL contract. Former Maine defenseman. Went to camp with the Islanders.

Andrey Pedan: Islanders prospect defenseman had his rookie year dinged by injuries, limited to 28 AHL games and five ECHL games plus two in the playoffs.

Adam Pelech: Islanders prospect defenseman signed his entry-level deal late last season.

Adam Phillips: AHL contract. Played both defense and forward at UMass. It sounded like the team was looking at him as a forward. Versatility is not a bad thing.

Bennett Schneider: Florida native played for Hamilton College and then in the SPHL. Another entrepreneur on the roster.

Keith Seabrook: AHL contract. He’s been out of the game for almost two years and had gotten into jewelry back home.

Brad Stebner: Stockton contract. He played five games for the Thunder last year out of Michigan Tech.

Goalies

Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers: Veteran goalie was with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last year and had been in camp with the L.A. Kings until a few days ago.

Andy Iles: Former Cornell goalie. Not positive he’s got a Florida (ECHL) contract, though the Everblades did give him a qualifying offer.

Shane Owen: Stockton contract. Was also in Islanders camp.

Philippe Trudeau: AHL contract. Had an ATO here last spring after making his pro debut on an ATO with Binghamton.
