Poulin out, McDonald up, Pulock on: Friday morning notes

A good news/bad news kind of morning at Wonderland for the morning skate. Kevin Poulin was off the ice, in hindsight, not early, but promptly yesterday. Turns out he’s dealing with a lower-body injury of some sort. Brent Thompson said they don’t have results of an MRI yet; that’ll tell them how long an absence they’ll be dealing with.

Tough break for Bridgeport, for whom Poulin might well have been first-half MVP. David Leggio gets the nod tonight. Kent Simpson is up from Stockton.

The Islanders, with Casey Cizikas banged up from last night, called for Colin McDonald this morning under emergency conditions. And Ryan Pulock, as promised, did skate this morning. Said it felt good to be out there, and as Thompson said, good to see him out there, too.

More tonight.
