Odd records, one way or the other: Springfield pregame

Bridgeport has lost seven in a row in regulation, two shy of the team record. You know what would end that streak? The bonus round. And I hate to even invoke the thing on a travel day, but if tonight’s game doesn’t go to a shootout, it would tie the team record: 32 games without a tie or a shootout, set to start the 2005-06 season. The Sound Tigers haven’t even gotten beyond five minutes of OT during this tie-free streak, which began the day after their shootout win at Allentown on Dec. 6. (They’ve only made it to three-on-three once, winning in Hartford.)

Matt Lashoff tried it this morning and again in warmup. I was catching the end of Springfield’s rushes so missed how they ran the first time; this is more or less how it looked if Lashoff’s out, but he took some rushes. We’ll see. Edit: Lashoff is, in fact, scratched.

This should be the box.

Always love the across-the-red-line chats where you know the guys but weren’t quite around for the connection. Last night, it was Jaime Sifers, Stratford guy, with Colton Gillies (Houston teammates) and Lashoff (they’ve worked out together in the summertime). Tonight, it was Scott Munroe and Harry Zolnierczyk (Adirondack).

I’ll be joining Phil during the first intermission on the broadcast. See if I’ve learned to talk since my last appearance.

*-Edit, 10:15 p.m.: Yikes. Sorry. Put him in just in case when he was sent down this morning; forgot to knock him out…
