Game 5 in Hartford: Tuesday notes

Hartford got the Game 4 win it needed to stay alive in Providence tonight. Yann Danis allowed only a power-play deflection, and Tyler Brown’s deflection of Tommy Hughes’ shot proved the game-winner in a 2-1 win at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. Game 5 is Friday night at 7 in Hartford. The word from Rangers camp the past couple of days has been to expect a forward call-up with Mats Zuccarello out. We’ll see who they take.

Travis Hamonic had a torn MCL, it was announced on Breakup Day 1 of 3 down on the Island. Anders Lee’s agent said Lee will join Team USA for the Worlds.

Colorado and Ontario are playing Game 7 at this writing in the ECHL. Edit, 1 a.m.: The Eagles are out.

And RIP, Jack Ely.
