Kids to camp/lots of coaching: Friday notes

The Islanders announced their development camp schedule. The Blue and White Scrimmage is, as was announced earlier, July 8, a Wednesday night, in Brooklyn. The rest of the camp is in Eisenhower Park. I was kind of hoping they meant the one in Milford, but they meant the one on the Island. At least it’s convenient to a Tim Hortons.

Grand Rapids introduced Todd Nelson on Friday.

a-Former Norfolk Admirals, new San Diego Gulls. p-Former Portland Pirates; AZ affiliation moves to Springfield. To keep this manageable, other affiliation-swap coaches are assumed to move with the affiliation until we hear otherwise.

San Jose confirmed that Roy Sommer is going to Cali with the old Worcester Sharks.

And assorted alumni and near-alumni coaching news: Peter Mannino has retired to become an assistant coach, in the USHL. So has Sam Ftorek, Robbie’s son and a onetime Bridgeport tryout, in Kalamazoo. (h/t on both: EliteProspects.) Daniel Tkaczuk, longer-ago retired, has an OHL assistant’s job.
