While that basketball tournament keeps them out of their home, the Sound Tigers have been to Maine and back and now come up to the capital. They’ll be without Justin Vaive tonight; upper body, Brent Thompson said. With him out, lines reverted to a sort-of old normal, with Carter Verhaeghe back with Bracken Kearns, with Connor Jones back to the fourth line, with Ross Johnston in Vaive’s spot. If those all changed at a moment’s notice (or several times), I wouldn’t be really surprised.
Jesse Graham gets in on defense for Matt Carkner, and Christopher Gibson will back up. Eamon McAdam is in town but not dressed. He’s assigned No. 34, the first with that number since Cody Rudkowsky in 2005-06. Parker Milner was sent back to Missouri.
None of the ATOs dress, then, among Bridgeport’s 10 scratches (including, it appeared, Sebastian Collberg, in warmup). Hartford had a game-time decision on defense, but Calle Andersson looked at first blush like the odd man out. And they’re wearing those red sweaters, so I have no idea who’s wearing letters for the Wolf Pack.
