Road practice: Tuesday notes

Practice today at Ingalls Rink (site of legendary March performances by the likes of Kevin Robinson, Nick Bonino, Jake Fuss, Will Massie) for reported reasons of ice availability. Connor Jones didn’t carve the logo out of the ice or rip the home school’s name off the boards. He did question the size of “that banner.”

Justin Vaive practiced this morning; he’ll remain day-to-day, Brent Thompson said. “Hopefully he’s ready to go. He looked good in practice,” Thompson said. Bright and early one tomorrow, in one of the biggest games at the weirdest time in team history. (With the basketball court, probably, just coming up 12 hours beforehand.)

Adam Pelech practiced today with the Islanders. Got clarification over the weekend: He can’t be sent down regularly, but it sounds as if he can get a conditioning stint.

Rangers draft pick Boo Nieves will be joining Hartford, Bob McKenzie reported.

And what’d I say last week? This world is a mess. RIP.
