Pelech re-ups: Monday notes

As we wait out the rain comes word that Adam Pelech has signed a four-year contract with the Islanders. Pelech spent most of his time up there this year, and this kind of commitment makes clear that’s where they expect him to stay.

A first-person Kyle Okposo piece from the Sabres on his injury and recovery. Glad he’s doing well.

Some accumulated notes:

Only logical that the AHL would let players go to the Olympics if the NHL won’t let their contracted guys go, and that’s what Stephen Whyno reported last week.

Zuccarello to the Connecticut Oilers. Not that one.

Our Brian Lockhart has just reported that Bridgeport City Council President Tom McCarthy won’t run for re-election.

And RIP, Chester Bennington, Joe Rago and John Heard; and, belatedly noted, Earl Sinks.
