Bernier up: Springfield pregame

Right after 5 p.m., the Islanders announced that they’ve recalled Steve Bernier, filling the spot that Josh Ho-Sang left open when they sent him down this morning. Bernier will give them a more-veteran depth option up front for as long as his stay lasts up top, a guy who’s been relied on (and reliable) in just about every role here over the past couple of years.

Wondered if they might tweak things with Ho-Sang back, but he slides right into Bernier’s spot, and otherwise they look pretty much like they did yesterday.

Let’s see how testy this one gets. Ross Johnston serves his suspension tonight. Bridgeport’ll be back here next Friday, too.

I’ve got four guys with ‘A’s in warmup for the T-birds. Been a while. Edit: The box suggests Tim Erixon’s is a leftover. Stephen Gionta’s got Bernier’s ‘A’ this time.
