Start him: Friday Wednesday notes

What day is it? They’re running together, apparently

Today was apparently technically optional. Well-attended; the all-stars were the only ones not on the ice, though Christopher Gibson was riding a stationary bike in the runway as they got to work. Stephen Gionta was in red but taking shots, and Leni DiCostanzo was in one net. (Won the two-on-none, small-ice game they played to finish up. He’s due for a start.)

Dal Colle, St. Denis and Ho-Sang together again, at least by jersey color; we’ll see what sticks tomorrow. Bourque-Eansor-Bernier. Joneses and Bailey.

The Big Club plays tonight in Toronto. They put Shane Prince on IR this afternoon, activating Andrew Ladd, a day after Harri Sateri beat them in Brooklyn for his first NHL win.

Our Devon Toews story from two weeks ago somehow never made the web… until now.

Sacred Heart’s postponed game at Air Force has moved substantially east: The Pios and Falcons will meet at Quinnipiac on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at noon. The Pioneers play Robert Morris at home this weekend, Friday morning and Saturday afternoon.

Fascinating piece on former NHL defenseman Paul Ranger on #BellLetsTalk day, highlighting mental health.

And RIP, Kevin Towers, Oscar Gamble and Vin DiLauro.
